Vicki Lynn "Gertie" Gibson was born on September 13, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah and passed away December 7, 2015. Gertie was the oldest daughter of Richard "Red" and Martha Gibson. She was raised in Kearns, Utah.
She graduated from Kearns High. She went on to graduate with her master degree in nursing administration from the University of Utah. She worked at the U of U Rehab before going to work at the VA Hospital. She was a devoted and loving nurse. She loved her work at the VA and her many friends there. She was a HUGE UTES fan! She also loved her rescue dogs. But mostly Gertie was an amazing daughter, sister and friend.
She is preceded in death by her mom Martha Gibson, her wife Patricia Galloway, and brother-in-law Pat Barrett. She is survived by her dad, Red Gibson, Tony (Jackie) Gibson, Jody Barrett, Brian (Pat) Gibson, Kelly Gibson, her partner Rose Eley, her niece Nicole Mack, nephews Brad Gibson, Sean Gibson and Tim Gibson, and many great nieces and nephews. We'd like to thank Nena Saunders for her friendship and support.
We will be having a celebration of Gertie's life on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Legacy Villas Club House located at 3521 Legacy Villas Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
