Todd Jay Burraston

d. November 23, 2020

1961 ~ 2020

Our gentle giant, Todd J. Burraston, passed away on November 19, 2020 from complications of pancreatic cancer.  Todd was born on December 19, 1961 to Merlyn and Mary Burraston in West Valley, Utah.  He graduated from Granite High School in 1980 and became a mechanic for Holiday Oil.  He met and married Michele Hutchings Burraston on May 21, 1988.  In 1993 he started working for Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office where he has worked diligently for 27 years, most of those years at Matheson Courthouse.  He also worked part time at R.C. Willey for 26 years at the IDC warehouse.  He became close to many of his coworkers and considered them family.

Besides these two jobs, Todd found time for his passion; working in the yard.  He loved planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, and each summer would make changes which (much to his family's chagrin) would create a family project.  Todd also loved the outdoors and looked forward to going quad riding, camping, fishing, and hunting.

Todd was very proud of his children, Tyler, Bayle (daughter-in-law), and Jessica, and loved spending time with them and his wife Michele either playing games, watching movies, or just being together.

Todd is survived by his wife, Judith Michele Burrraston, children, Tyler (Bayle) Burraston, Jessica Burraston, and his 4 siblings, Lori (Frank) Reilley, Troy Burraston, Kyle (Lisa) Burraston, and Lisa (Eric) Bird.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn and Mary Burraston.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Affordable Funerals and Cremations, located at 4387 South 500 West, Murray, Utah.  Funeral services will be held the following day for immediate family only at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse on 9376 South 4000 West, West Jordan, Utah.  Interment to be at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery located at 3115 Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.  Friends and family please join us at the viewing and cemetery.

We would like to thank all our family, friends, and neighbors for their overwhelming support during Todd's illness.  He will be deeply missed.

In compliance with Governor Herbert's mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all services. Social distancing will be enforced.

Please visit with the family at either viewing, but attendance for the funeral service is limited to family and close friends to keep the size of gathering smaller. Thank you.
