Tamra Lynn Tischner passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with dementia on February 10, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Born on April 17, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Lorna and Leo Teerlink, she excelled at and valued her role as a daughter and sister.
Tamra graduated in 1964 from Murray High School where she met her sweetheart and eternal companion David Dwight Tischner. They were married and sealed on July 2, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Tamra was selfless. She gave herself completely to her husband and children and always put them first.
She had an abounding testimony of her Savior and the power of prayer. She held and was dedicated to her many callings in the LDS church including Primary President, Young Women's President, and RS teacher. She valued the opportunity to visit teach as her friends also meant the world to her.
Tamra had an incredible work ethic and ability to keep up with an astounding number of responsibilities. She never took time to be lazy. She very much enjoyed the friendships she made while working for Richard Barton, OBGYN and at the American Fork Clinic. Tamra also had an outstanding ability to nurture and strengthen children, which she did for many years as a preschool teacher alongside a very dear friend. Grandma was her most cherished role. Her grandchildren were her entire world and she was happiest while spending time with them.
Tamra is survived by her eternal companion D. Dwight Tischner, children; Staci (Mayling) Vest, Troy (Robyn) Tischner, Becky (Tyler) Brinkman, Heather (Brandt) Revell, Kristi (Travis) Zingleman, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Siblings Viola (Martin) Overduyn, Carol (Larry) Liedtke, Leona Prince, Terry Teerlink, Prime (Nancy) Teerlink, Duane (Maureen) Teerlink. Many nieces and nephews
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Lorna and Leo Teerlink, providing
a reunion that she deeply longed for.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16th 2018 at the Alpine Stake Center, 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah. A viewing will be held there on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at 11:00 a.m. that same day and location. Interment will be in the Alpine City Cemetery, Alpine, Utah.
