It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Shannon Rowley Goodwill on May 2, 2026, two days after her 61st birthday. Shannon was born with her twin brother Shayne, on April 30, 1965. Born to Richard C. Higley and LaRue Barnes (Rowley), later adopted by step-father Floyd B. Rowley.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth, humor, kindness and compassion touched many lives.
On April 21st, 2010, Shannon married Christopher Goodwill. They loved taking long drives in the canyons or just anywhere to get away for a while. Shannon had many different things she loved doing, such as camping, fishing, going to the lake, bowling, barbequing with family and friends, doing ceramics, watching fireworks and taking walks with her dog.
She last worked at Farmers Insurance where she helped customers with their insurance needs. She became close to many of her customers and they enjoyed talking with her. This is also where she met her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband, Christopher (Chris) Goodwill; her son Christopher (Chris) Paul (Alicia) Shaffer, who she loved to the moon and back. She was so proud of him and his accomplishments serving our country. Also survived by sisters Debbie Campbell, Valinda Van Komen, Louise Rowley, Leilani (Dean) Ottley; her brothers Richard Rowley, Shayne Rowley, F. Dee (Sherilin) Rowley and John Rowley.
She added additional children when she married her husband Chris; Jaime (Nick) Lund, Crystal (Gordon) Beals, Christina Gatlin (Dev Flynn); and Sean (Megan) Goodwill. Also a wonderful mother-in-law, Joyce Goodwill.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her sister Rochelle Peebles, her brother Clyde W. Rowley, her brother-in-law Bobby Van Komen whom she called MasterChef, which he absolutely loved. She was also deeply loved by many nieces and nephews. She also had bonus grandchildren when she married Chris.
There will be a Celebration of Life on June 6th, 2026. There will be more information posted with details.
The love, kindness, laughter and caring soul will live on in our hearts forever. The nicknames that she gave everyone will live forever in their memory. Fly with the angels and be at peace with mom, pop, and Rochelle, plus many other family members. Love always and forever!!!
