Scott Robert Fassnacht

April 24, 1970 — January 15, 2026

Scott Robert Fassnacht (born in Akron, OH), age 55, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on January 15, 2026.

Scott was deeply devoted to his wife, Cathy, whom he loved profoundly. Their marriage was the cornerstone of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Dave (Lisa), Jamie (Amanda), and Megann; and his nieces, Natalie and Emily.

Scott was a man of remarkable strength and resilience. Throughout his life, he faced challenges with determination and perseverance, never losing sight of his ability to overcome. One of his most defining accomplishments was his decision to quit drinking cold turkey, a life-changing choice that reflected his discipline, resolve, and commitment to personal growth.

A talented chef, Scott took great pride in his culinary career, finding purpose and fulfillment in his craft. Outside of the kitchen, he found peace in the outdoors and cherished time spent camping and in the mountains, where he felt most connected to nature.

Scott will be remembered for his resilience, strength of character, and unwavering spirit. His life stands as a testament to perseverance, love, and the capacity for change.

A memorial service will be held at the Embassy Suites 3524 Market Street, West Valley, UT 84119, on January 24th, 2026 at 11AM. Scott will be cremated and will be spread in the Tetons with his mom.

He will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew him.
