Robert William Whitesides

d. March 6, 2018

1946 ~ 2018 Robert William Whitesides passed away surrounded by family on February 28, 2018 after a valiant fight with cancer. Bob was born October 6, 1946 to William Waldo Whitesides and Beryl Rigby in Logan, UT. Bob's family moved to the Bay Area where he grew up. Bob married Dale Kliewer and together they had one son Ryan Douglas White¬sides. They were later di¬vorced.
It was inspiring to see the way Bob approached life. He worked hard to be the best in every pursuit. He was a cement mason, hardscaper, house painter, salesman, print techni¬cian, golfer and artist.
Later in life Bob was truly converted to his re¬ligion, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the teachings and never hesitated to share his testimony with anyone around him. Bob would carry around copies of the Book of Mormon and if anyone didn't have one, he would be sure to give them one.
To be closer to a temple and in a smaller town, Bob moved to St. George, UT. There he painted inside the LDS Temple and attended the temple every day. Bob made many friends in St. George.
Bob is survived by his brother Rodney, 4 sisters Gay, Jane, Paula and Andrea, and his son Ryan. Services for Bob will be held on Saturday March 3 at the LDS Church, 511 Valley View Dr., St. George at 5 pm.
The family would like to thank the many friends who visited during the last days of Bob's life. We would also like to give a special thanks to the staff of Encompass Hospice.
