Richard Edward Holt passed away on February 24, 2020 after finally succumbing to congestive heart failure. Richard was born on June 4, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Corom Beckstead Holt and Melva Louise Hedden Holt.
Richard Graduated from Ogden High in 1952. After attending two years at Utah State, he served in the Mexico City Mexico mission from 1955-1957 which set the spiritual foundation as he faithfully fulfilled many church callings over his life. Richard joined the military in 1958 and completed basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia.
He married Carol Green on September 3, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple and moved to Granger (West Valley City), Utah March 1964. Richard graduated from the University of Utah in 1968 with a degree in Accounting and spent many years as an accountant before changing careers to become a letter carrier in Magna, Utah until retirement in 1996. Carol passed away on June 25, 1999 and he remarried DeAnna Cruser Cain in June 2000. Richard also enjoyed being with his family and traveling.
Richard is survived by wife DeAnna, two sons, Richard (NaLani) and George (Lise) Holt; his brothers David (Carla, deceased), James (Cheryl) and Lynn (Frankie) Holt. Richard had four grandsons, six granddaughters, and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by parents and wife Carol.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jordan North 6th Ward chapel at 3836 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan North 6th Ward chapel at 3836 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120. Burial will be at the South Jordan City Cemetery.
