Richard "Sam" Eugene Hills

Washington City, Utah -Richard "Sam" Eugene Hills passed away on January 28, 2023, at his home in St. George, Utah. Born August 28, 1939, to Fred T. Hills and Mary V. Overy. Married to Deborah Hills, Sam is survived by his wife; children, Richard Heath Hills (Sherelle), Tangee Lynn Sloan; and step-children; Amber Snarr (Chris), Steven Wells (Jessica), Alex Cobb (deceased), Jenny Butler (Gary); and his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sam often shared that life passes "in a blink of an eye" knowing this, Sam did not spare a moment, often waking up before the sun to fill his days with simple joys, starting with peanut butter, banana, and coffee. Sam enjoyed biking and hiking in the outdoors with his sweetheart, Deborah. Sam was rarely seen without sporting his favorites: The University of Utah or Bugs Bunny. Sam often ended his days by relaxing with a Rolling Rock but just one while watching one of the classics, his favorites being John Wayne, M.A.S.H., and The Andy Griffith Show.

In honor of Sam's wishes, a simple celebration of his life to share memories with loved ones will be held at a later date.
