Mindy Brianne Black was born on December 13, 1978 to Lewis Grant and Sherrie Aleen Black in Salt Lake City, Utah. She returned home to our heavenly father on July 29, 2019. She was married to John Folkman.

She had one son RyLee Grant Black with Ryland Lopez. She loved spending time with RyLee watching him grow up and was proud of the young man he is today. She grew up with one sister Shelleen Black (Garcia) and one brother Grant (Christine) Black. She had 2 nieces MeLisa (Peter) Sandoval and MarsyElla Black.

Mindy had a heart of gold willing to help anyone she could. She played softball and loved cooking especially when holidays came around. She also liked going down state street when she was younger and going to high school with her friends. she loved being around family and friends, making people laugh, going camping, having a fire pit going in her yard, playing with her pets Cupcake and 2 cats, and she loved re-creating recipes from her Grandma Lillian and Aunt Elaine. If you knew Mindy she absolutely loved dolphins and she had them every where. Mindy worked for Sorenson Bio-Science for many years with her sister-in-law Christine and other great people she considered her friends. She loved her job and went above and beyond to do her best.

Mindy is survived by her husband John Folkman, her son RyLee Black, her siblings Shelleen Black (Garcia), Grant (Christine) Black and her nieces MeLisa (Peter) Sandoval and MarsyElla Black. Preceded in death by her parents Grant and Sherrie Black, her grandparents Lillian and Verl Black, Richard and Lois Ruttenbur and Aunt Elaine.

Funeral Services will be held August 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at 4260 West 5215 South, Kearns, Utah 84118. An evening viewing will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the same location. Graveside will be at Valley View Memorial 4400 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah 84120.
