Michael Dennis McCarty was born September 20, 1939 in Buffalo, New York to Frank and Doris McCarty. He was raised with his two siblings in Idaho, Oregon and California close to his maternal grandparents. He also has two children and three grandchildren still with us.
Mike had many passions in his life. A quest for knowledge and a curious nature drove him to stretch his boundaries continually. He loved and valued education and earned a Masters in School Psychology. He worked many years as a counselor, researcher and teacher.
He served 6 years in the US Navy. As a Veteran, The Community Residential Care Program (CRC) helped Mike bring balance and purpose back into his life for the last 14 years so he enjoyed every day fully. He then closed his eyes on August 9, 2014 and started a new adventure.
We give many thanks to Holladay Health Care, Applegate Home Care and the Utah Veterans Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 5415 South 4290 West, Kearns, Utah. A Graveside service will follow at Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
