Margaret Alice Jencks Anglesey

Margaret Anglesey of West Jordan, Utah passed away Monday July 13, 2020 surrounded by her husband, children and grand children. Margaret was born at Cottonwood Maternity Hospital to Stanley Morris and Marilyn Wood Jencks. Margaret grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where early on she developed a love and appreciation for music. She is an accomplished pianist and organist. Margaret played the organ and piano in her ward for over twenty-six years. Her piano playing spanned her entire lifetime through numerous soloists and accompanying countless choirs and individual vocalists. Margaret shared her musical talent to all of her children and others. She also played the Oboe in school and self taught herself the violin while her children were learning to play instruments in their schooling. Her musical talent will be greatly missed.

Margaret was also an adventurist. Before she was married she traveled to Germany, Italy, The Holy Land, Egypt, Hawaii and most of the states in the United States. She traveled with her family to many of the National Parks. Margaret also spent 30 days in a wilderness survival course in Southern Utah.

During Margaret's young adult years she went to both Brigham Young University and University of Utah where she earned two Bachelor's degrees. Her first degree was at the University of Utah in Health Education. Her first job after graduation was that of a maid at Jackson Hole Lodge. She could have started her career off in Health Education but her adventurism took hold of her and she spent that summer working as a maid and hiking all over the Tetons. After a time of contemplating what she felt she should do with her career she decided to go back to school to become a Registered Nurse. That career path has lead her to many different areas in the hospital that included Shock Trauma ICU, Recovery Room and finally she ended her career as the Nurse Educator for IMC Maternity which she loved so much. She spent just under forty years with Intermountain Healthcare before her illness forced her to retire. After Margaret's schooling ended and her career was going she met her husband Scott where her adventures continued.

As it turned out being a wife, mother and grandmother ended up being her greatest adventure of all. As a mother, she showed much love to her children by teaching them the love of our Father in Heaven and teaching them to also love music as she did. As a Grandma, she created a closet just for toys; toys that she and her grandchildren could play with. She would sit and play with them for hours. We all will celebrate the opportunity that we had to share a portion of our lives with Margaret. She has indeed left a portion of her spirit with each of us.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father and mother, Stan and Marilyn, and her sister, Barbara Soulier. She is survived by her husband, Scott Anglesey and her children Scott Jr (Anastazia), Marianne (Mike) Cook, Karen, and Garrett Anglesey. Funeral Services will be held at the River Oaks Stake Center located at 8950 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah 84088.
