Kenneth (Ken) Bruce Kirkland age 45 went home to be with the Lord on October 7th, 2017. He was born on August 26th, 1972 in Amarillo, Texas, to Bill and Linda Kirkland. He married his best friend, Autum Millican, on December 10, 2008. Ken was a 1990 graduate of Highland Park High School in Amarillo, Texas. He was a proud patriot and was honored to have served his country in the United States Navy. Ken was member of Bryant Baptist Tabernacle and he loved God with all his heart. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting and all things guns. He had been a long-haul, owner operator, truck driver and enjoyed every second he and his wife spent together hauling freight all over the country. He loved living, he was adventurous, spontaneous and always found the good in every situation. He was smart and talented; if he could dream it, he could build it, and there was nothing he couldn't dream.
He is survived by his wife, Autum Kirkland; Father, Bill (Judy) Kirkland, Amarillo, TX.; Mother, Linda McKinney, Phoenix, AZ; Brother, Lee (Tessa) Kirkland, Abilene, TX.; Aunt, Sharon Epperson, Phoenix, AZ.; Uncle, David Morrison, White Oak TX.; Father & Mother in-law, Rev. Dwight & Betty Millican, Higdon, AL; Grandmother in-law, Linnie Gore, Higdon, AL; Brother in-law, John Millican, Higdon, AL; Sisters in-law, Stephanie Prichett, Ider, AL; Angie Millican, Higdon, AL; Dawn Millican, Higdon, AL; Leslie (Mark) Starkey, Higdon, AL; and a very special Aunt Carolyn Hurst, Ider, AL; 16 nieces & nephews, and 5 great nieces. A multitude of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Morrison and Ara Cantrell Morrison of Dimmitt, TX. And J.D. Kirkland and Della Calloway Kirkland of Hereford, TX.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM EDT in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Millican, Rev. Wayne Winters, and Rev. Sam Whited officiating. Interment will follow in the Higdon Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM ; Friday 10:00 AM ~ 2:00 PM EDT at Moore Funeral Home, Bryant, Alabama.
