Keith Russell Myers

Russ was born on February 1, 1950, the oldest child of Erma Hurst and Keith Louis Myers in Salt Lake City.  After being diagnosed with rare Neuroendocrine Tumors in April 2017, he fought a courageous battle with cancer with humor and dignity. He died August 31, 2019 surrounded by loving family at his home in St George, where he and his wife, Stephanni, had recently moved.

He is survived by the love of his life, Stephanni, his children Nathan Russell Myers and Melanie Myers and his stepchildren, Zach (Shantell) Hicken, Josh Hicken, Matthew (Cathy), Marissa Hicken, Spencer (Mya) Hicken and McKenna Alamoush.  He is a much loved, fun grandpa to Kai, Max, River, Aspen, Joseph, Emily, Mary, William, Benjamin, Kate, Alexis, Ava, Aria, Indie and Paisli. He was the oldest of seven children: Scott Myers, Dave (Terry) Myers, Conie (Todd) Mangum, Jeanne Stockman, Paul Myers, and Carol (Cory) Nielsen. He is also survived by his mother, many nieces and nephews that he loved to tease, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father. Russ loved people whom he often entertained with his famous wit and humor and will be greatly missed by many wonderful friends. Russ was a great friend.

The funeral service for Russ is Saturday, September 7th, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:45 for the viewing and 11:00 for the service at Bloomington Hills 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1130 E. Brigham Road, St George, Utah. The West Building. Internment at Tonaquint Cemetery 1777 S Dixie Dr. in St. George.

Russ graduated from Hillcrest High School and attended Weber State. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved his Savior, Jesus Christ and served an honorable mission to the California Central Mission. He worked in sales, owning his own business much of his life.

With love and compassion, Russ diligently mentored hundreds of men transitioning from prison, becoming a true friend and example, not only to those men, but to many others for his great effort. As a tribute to his years of volunteer service, they named a new facility after him. He was honored to offer the dedicatory prayer for the  'Myers's House'.

Russ loved his large family. He pursued his deep desire to be a Good Man and especially excelled at being a good friend.  He enjoyed photography, movies, and making others laugh. He liked to ski, mountain bike, hike, travel, and play guitar. Stephanni was his enraptured fan and she cherished many hours of private concerts.  He was sealed to his "Honey" in the Mount Oquirrh Temple and they both look forward to spending a joyous eternity together.

Russ and Stephanni are deeply grateful to the many family and friends who, with great love and tenderness, helped them in so many sweet ways during his terrible illness. May God bless each of you; your kindness inspired us.
