Joanne Spotten, born December 19, 1963, in Provo, Utah to Donald Bertram Spotten and Erma Wheeler, passed from her Earthly home to live among the Angels. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones and in the capable hands of the Huntsman Cancer Center on Friday, September 29, 2017.
Her lifelong battle with diabetes and Gardner syndrome is over and now she is free of pain and suffering. Her faith in God never wavered. Her kindness and selflessness helped so many.
Joanne graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University and later took time to become a New York nanny for a year. She loved every minute of that. She then found her true calling, computers. She became a software engineer and she adored everything electronic. She was a self-proclaimed computer nerd. She was a Senior Software Engineer at BioFire Diagnostics.
What gave Joanne her greatest joy was her family and friends. Her nieces and nephews were her life. There is nothing she would not have done for any of them. She was at every event in every one of their lives whether it was football games, baseball games, plays, graduations, baptisms or picnics. You knew that Joanne would be there. She played piano at primary. She enjoyed listening to the children sing and watching them grow. She loved each and every one of them.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Erma Wheeler, her brothers Jeffrey Spotten and Reed Spotten and her nephew, Keagen Dahl.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the LDS 31st Ward located at 1078 South McClelland, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115 with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. prior to services. A viewing will also be held on Friday evening, October 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment will be in Springville Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
