St. George-

Jerry R Johnson, 75, passed away May 12th, 2022, of complications from cancer.  He was born April 22nd, 1947, in Salt Lake City, UT to Alton Ross Johnson and Edith Beath Johnson. He married the love of his life, Carol M. Olsen, on April 16, 1966.



Jerry lived to travel with his love, Carol, either in a motor home, in a Jeep or in a razor on the Logandale Trails. He loved to eat and cook and was famous for his beans and chili verde.  He loved camping, fishing, Nascar, football and welding.  He had a zany, sarcastic sense of humor everyone loved.  He was active in the VFW, he was the Junior Vice Commander in 2019-2020.  He was with family when he passed away and will be remembered for the easy smile and unending willingness to help anyone who asked.



Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol, daughters Carey Desmarais (Jason) and Stacy Macaulay (David,) six grandchildren, Chelsea, Lexi, Carson, Aidan, Sidney and Bree, and four great grandchildren.  Jerry has many nieces, nephews, sisters-and brothers-in-law that he was very close to.



Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Alton Johnson (Rae) and Edith Beath Johnson, siblings Joyce Davies, Dean Johnson (Donna,) Colleen Nelson, Layne Johnson (Barbara) and Susan Johnson.



Celebrations of life will be held on May 21th, 1:00 pm at VFW Post #8336 Elwood Perkins, 324 N. Whitmore Street, Overton NV., and June 25th, starting at 1:00 pm at the home of Tom and Deb Olsen 1582 E. 3350 S. Salt Lake City UT.
