James Lee Easter Sr, age 87, passed away on May 25, 2022. He was born on October 18, 1934 in LeRoy, Kanas to Franklin Allen Easter, and Lanora Belle Straton.
He married Marie Goodfellow on November 16, 1958. James and Marie were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 18, 1966.
James had his own plumbing business in Seattle, Washington. He and Marie blended their families and added two more and raised eight wonderful children. James and Marie served two full time missions for the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to North Carolina and to the Philippines. James shot a 1200 lb. Moose in Canada and fed their growing family for a whole winter. Marie made moose skin jackets for them and they enjoyed wearing them around town. James was a good story-teller and always had a story to share.
He is survived by Sharon (Steve) Powell, James Lee (Linda) Easter Jr., Meridith Easter, Robert (Shirley) Easter, Lelia (Bart) Grant, Frank Easter. 37 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Easter, Betty Carnes (sister), Lorana Patterson (sister), Ronald Easter (brother), Roy Easter (son), Barbara Malmgren (daughter).
Funeral services will be held 9:00 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St Joseph Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Ln, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. James will be interred at Camp Williams 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 12:00 PM.
