Helen Donaldson Taylor, 71, lost a brief fight with cancer and left us on December 10, 2017 to reunite with her loved ones including her son D.J. She was born December 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Douglas Donaldson and Rose Boley. She married the love of her life, Gary Taylor, May 25, 1985.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, taking drives through the mountains, and working alongside her husband in their garden. She had a love for animals, particularly dogs, and was a favorite of the many they had over the years. Not one to shy away from hard work, Helen was an employee of Staybridge Suites up until her death. She was well loved by the staff for being kind, fair, and having a quick wit.
She is survived by her husband Gary "Dino", her daughter Debra and son-in-law Jamie Sharp of West Valley City, her two grandsons Michael and Camdon, two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Jordyn, her sister Carol Buethe and brother Neil Donaldson (Lora).
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Donald J. "D.J.", and her brother Jimmy.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, December 22, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
