Helen Unsworth Dipo passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving children and 2 grandchildren. Born on July 13, 1943, to Margaret and Ruel Unsworth. She was very close with her tight-knit family of five, Helen being the youngest, which shaped her generous and spirited nature. Later on to becoming a “his mine and ours family” adding a step mother, and seven more children, totaling 12 children altogether. Cheaper by the dozen.
A graduate of Cyprus High School, beauty school, and business college, Helen went on to work in various roles throughout her life, including as a beautician and later as a secretary for the State of Utah and other organizations. She was known for her strong work ethic, humorous, fun, and loving nature, and her ability to make those around her feel welcome and cared for.
Helen embraced life with enthusiasm and found joy in staying active in Church and Family life. She worked at the LDS Jordan River Temple where she met dear friends. She was also a proud member of a local square dancing group and in her early years, participated in a bowling league. She was very active in Church callings, Temple service, and Geneology work. She also loved family reunions, Easter egg hunts, piano lessons, crocheting baby blankets, sister trips, Christmas parties, and weekly card games with her siblings.
Helen married Cloy Wurst in 1963 and together they had 4 children. She later married Clarence Young in 1971 and together they had 1 child. After being a single mother for many years, she met the love of her life, Dannie R. Dipo and they were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1984. They shared nearly 40 wonderful years together and their sweet relationship was inspiring to all who knew them.
She is survived by her children, Lena (Steve) Sprague, Dianne (Paul) Burt, Doug Wurst, and Brenda Dimond; her 15 grandchildren, Katie (Sam) Taylor, Brittney Morrill, Mia (MeRissa) Sprague, Nicholas (Rachel) Burt, Joshua (Annabelle) Burt, Trevor (Mauryn) Burt, Sage (Daniel) Wong, Sophie Burt, Benjamin (Heather) Wurst, Christopher Wurst, Sarah Wurst, Alisa Wurst, Candace Baker, Emilee Baker, Dallas Dimond and also 15 great-grandchildren--each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She is also survived by her siblings: Joyce Bergeson, Wayne (Eleanor) Unsworth, Peggy Keele, Lynne Peterson, Lloyd Williams, Jeannie Harris, Judy Haber, Larue Gilmore, LaRayne Deans, and Ruel Jr. Unsworth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruel Unsworth and Margaret Jones, stepmother Donette Callister; her husband, Dannie R. Dipo; her son Michael Wurst; and her dear sister Shirley Baker.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed.
Services for Helen will take place in the River Oaks 5th Ward House located at:

Dates and times for the services will be as follows:
Evening viewing: Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 6-8:00pm.
Daytime Viewing: Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 11:00am-11:45am at the same building with the funeral service to follow starting at 12noon.
Helen will be laid to rest with her husband, Dannie, at Valley View Memorial Park after the funeral services conclude.
