Gordon J. "Gordy" Simpson

Gordon J. "Gordy" Simpson, 62, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on March 24, 2024 in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born on May 25, 1961.
Gordon was an amazing Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was known for his love for everyone equally; and his unique way of showing affection by squeezing shoulder blades, a gesture he fondly referred to as, "Gordon Grips." His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gordon had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved watching "The Price is Right", Yellowstone, and football. He especially loved supporting his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
His love for the outdoors led him to enjoy camping, fishing, and cooking for his loved ones both while camping and at home.
He is survived by his siblings, Danny Anderson, Angela Montoya, Veronica Martinez, and Abie Eugene Martinez; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends.
Gordon is preceded in death by his biological father, Bobby J. Simpson, mother, Darla Joy Anderson Martinez; Dad Abie Nestor Martinez; sister, Sandy Michelle Martinez Herrera; Grandmother Armilda C. Anderson, Grandmother Mildred Maria Martinez as well as many other family members and friends who passed before him.
A Celebration of Life for Gordy will be planned in the near future. Details will be announced as soon as they are available.
Rest in peace, bro. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
