Evelyn Luthi passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016. Evelyn's life was filled with many struggles and victories. Her devotion to her family was the brightest point of her life. Evelyn served 21 years in the US Army during which she served in many capacities and many places around the world. During those years she had many experiences and hardships but retired achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class and was a Vietnam Era Veteran. After retirement she worked several jobs, including several years working in the gold mines west of Elko Nevada. Evelyn had a great work ethic and never shied away from any task given her. After her second retirement she and her sister Clara lived together in Apache Junction, Arizona. Those years were some of the happiest of her life. With Clara, she traveled and had many good times. There she overcame the last of her struggles and achieved the right to go through the Mesa Arizona Temple and remained faithful to the end. Evelyn is survived by her brothers and sisters Rene Luthi, Allen and Ann Luthi, Clara Norris, Ellis and Mary Luthi, Frank and Jody Luthi, Mary Jane and Dave Casper, Charles Roger Luthi, Mark and Tamara Luthi, Steve and Linda Luthi, Dorothy and Keith Breinholt and many nieces and nephews that adored her tremendously.  She was preceded in death by her Parents Frank and Idella Luthi, Brother Fred Keith Luthi, and sister-in-laws Ruth Luthi (Rene) and Cindy Luthi (Frank) and brother-in-law Al Norris (Clara). You will be sorely missed sis, till we see you again.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Fox Point Ward, 1465 West Bristol Ridge Road, West Jordan, Utah at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing held one hour before the service. Interment will be immediately following at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery located at 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a monetary donation instead to help with costs.
