Eric Shawn McNabb

July 5, 1974 — December 31, 2023

Eric Shawn McNabb, beloved parent, grandparent, son, brother and friend departed this life on Sunday, December 31st, 2023, at the age of 49, after a long battle with mental health issues.
Eric was born on July 5th, 1974, to proud parents Don and Marlene McNabb in Tucson, AZ. He was a happy go lucky child and spent most of his youth growing up in Blythe, CA. He moved to St. George, UT in 1990 where he met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Mindy. They were married in 1992 and later divorced. During the 24 years they were married they had a son, Trae; daughter, Maitlyn; and a beautiful baby boy, Carter who unexpectedly passed away soon after he was born.
Eric worked different jobs to support his family, everything from working as a landscaper to an installation manager for a fireplace shop. After Carters death, Eric vowed to make a difference with his life’s work, thus sparking a 20-year career in the medical field as a registered nurse. Eric didn’t look at it as work, he truly loved the interaction with his patients and coworkers.
Eric was a devoted father, husband, brother, and son always willing to lend a helping hand and give 110% to anyone in need. He had a big heart and was very conscientious in serving his patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion, including his own father. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who know him.
Eric is survived by his mother, Marlene McNabb; son, Trae McNabb; daughter and son in law, Maitlyn and Matt Scott; Grandchildren, Jet, Nova, and Case; Brothers, Darin and Steve; sister, Lisa; nieces, Shasta and Taylor; nephews, Damien and Dante; girlfriend, Rose and pets, Rasta and Aggie.
