Donna Ann Barrus

May 28, 1933 — July 12, 2023

Donna Ann Barrus went to join her beloved husband on July 12th, 2023, just six weeks after her 90th birthday. Our beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, was born on May 28, 1933 in Logan, Utah, to Ruth Smith Allen and George Lavar Allen. A lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she held many positions in Primary and Relief Society. She particularly enjoyed working in the Jordan River Temple. She graduated from South High where she met the love of her life, James Barrus. They married February 1, 1952, in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Donna is survived by her three daughters: Judy Gingell (Brent), Jeanne Burnett (David), Janet Cash (Chris). She also had one nephew, Dave Donohoo (Voyanne), nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents George and Ruth, her sister Dolores Donohoo, brother-in-law David Donohoo, brother Gary Allen (Connie), and son-in-law Chris Cash.
A viewing to be held Monday, July 17, 2023 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Peachwood Ward, 3963 Peachwood Drive, West Valley City, Utah, 84118 with a graveside service following at 11:30 at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, 84123.
