Dianna Lin Harris-Pezzella

July 2, 1959 — May 4, 2025

With full hearts and fond memories, we celebrate the incredible life of Dianna Lin Harris-Pezzella of Roy, Utah. She passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2025 at age 65 after a brave years-long battle with cancer.

Born on July 2nd, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dianna brought laughter, light, and love wherever she went. She graduated from West High school in 1977 having been a wonderful athlete playing basketball, softball, and part of the school pep squad. She was a fantastic artist and designer who continued those passions through to the end of her life. She enjoyed her education and still spoke about the positive impacts her teachers had on her. She attended college, training to become a nurse, and served as a vital member of the healthcare profession for well over 40 years. As a nurse she saved countless lives, helped usher others to the next life, and gave immeasurable amounts of comfort, hope, and joy to all those she treated. She bravely served as a nurse in a Covid-unit during the height of the pandemic, fearlessly and selflessly risking her life to save others, and even through her own battle with cancer continued working as a nurse as long as possible. She was a great friend and mentor to all those she worked with and took care of, earning her the moniker “Mama Di” because of her kind, loving, courageous, motherly personality. She was blessed to be tenderly cared for in her final days by these same loving friends and coworkers at Harrison Pointe in Ogden, Utah.

Dianna was also a life-long faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was an avid temple attendee who loved scripture study. She also wholeheartedly enjoyed her service as a cub scout leader and working with youth, as well as her many other various church callings. Dianna lived life fully and encouraged others to do the same. Whether it was her love for her career, her faith, or her hobbies such as gardening, sewing, and travel, or simply the way she made everyone feel seen and valued, she lived each day with intention and joy.

Our sweet “Lady Dianna” and “Mama Di” is survived her two adoring children Patrick Pezzella, who valiantly served as her primary caregiver through her battle with cancer, as well as her daughter Katheryne Pezzella Larson (Jordan Larson), who gave additional support and love. Dianna is also survived by her spouse Stephen Pezzella, her sister Susan Ackerman Fullerton (Danny Fullerton and Royce Ackerman [deceased]), her brother Victor Harris, her sister Jennifer Wallace Thacker (Tracy Thacker and Jason Wallace [deceased]), her brother Nathan Harris (Maria Harris) as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. Dianna is also survived by her aunt Corrine Godfrey, who was a second mother to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sharon and Buddy Harris, her baby sister Stephanie, her brothers-in-law Royce Ackerman and Jason Wallace, and her sister Mary Harris and her uncle Clarke Godfrey. We know all these people and countless other family members and friends who have passed on, as well as her favorite dog Maggie and many other pets are waiting with open arms, and will have a joyous reunion. All those who knew her will continue to carry forward her legacy of love, courage, kindness, and faithfulness throughout their lives.

Join us in a celebration of Dianna’s life on Saturday, May 10th at 12:00 noon in Roy, Utah at the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building, address: 3776 West 5375 South St., Roy, Utah, 84067.

Instead of mourning in silence, we will gather together in love for a simple service to share memories, photos, music she loved, and to remember all the moments that made Dianna unforgettable. Bright colors and joyful spirits are welcome.

In honor of Dianna’s giving nature, the family encourages donations to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Let’s remember Dianna not for how she left, but for how beautifully she lived.

John 4: 14

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
