1955 ~ 2014
"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." - Washington Irving
No statement could be more fitting for our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who passed away on June 26th after a four-year battle with cancer. Diane was born in Soda Springs, Idaho to Melvin and Maria Monroe on November 29, 1955. She graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1974 and moved to Salt Lake City, UT shortly after.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Stephanie and Mallory Howard; and her sweet dog, Lily; as well as loving sisters, in-laws, nieces, and a host of long-time friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Kristine Kennedy and nephew Troy Mansfield.
Diane's family would like to thank her medical teams at Intermountain Medical Center and Community Nursing Services.
At Diane's request, there will be no funeral services. To honor Diane, a celebration of life will be held at the Petersen residence on Sunday July 6th from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
