Dee Alan Belcher

d. September 1, 2018

1950 ~ 2018
Dee Alan Belcher returned home to his Heavenly Father on Aug 29, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on April 5, 1950 to Everett and Verna Belcher and was raised in the Ft Union area of Salt Lake City, Utah.
In his youth he served an LDS mission in the Southern US States.
Dee and Michelle Gill were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 29, 1977. Together they shared many wonderful memories. They loved going on cruises and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Dee held a variety of positions over the 37 years that he worked for the Granite School District. He also ran his own sprinkler installation business for 40 years, where he made many lifelong friends.
In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, and loved being in the mountains and outdoors with his family. Every BYU football game day, you could find him with his sons Cheering on the team.
One of his talents was storytelling. When he was young, neighborhood kids would gather around the porch to listen to his stories. In more recent years, his grandkids would gather around him as he told them stories from his childhood.
Dee loved his grandchildren and delighted in planning unique gifts and activities for them. The kids knew they were always welcome to come sit on his big chair with him.
Dee had great faith in his Heavenly Father and had many Christlike attributes. He always thought of others before himself and would take the shirt off his back to give to a stranger in need. He will be remembered for being a hard worker, mild mannered, a friend to EVERYONE, and never complaining when times were hard.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle, children Christopher, (Nancy), Bradley, (Candace), Brandon, (Camille), Stephanie, (Jeffrey), and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Hunter Stake Center 3930 S 6000 W West Valley City, UT.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm prior to the services at the church.
