Dale Clinton Stocking (known to his friends and family as Clint) died November 25, 2019 of causes incident to diabetes. He was born June 21, 1947 in San Diego, California, the first child of Dale W. Stocking and Audrey M Madsen. His brother Bruce was born three years later and passed away at age four, the same year his sister Karen (married to Wes Rolfe) was born. Raised in Salt Lake City he graduated from Granite High school where he was active in many things including sports favorites being track and football.

Clint served as a missionary for the LDS church in the California Mission which he loved and spoke of often. After returning home he married Cynthia Pratt (later divorced) and had four children, D. Clinton Stocking, W. Scott Stocking (Brooke), Derek Stocking, Lindsay (Gavin) Bennett. After his divorce he met and married Vera C. Stocking and added 4 stepchildren, Erica Sandoval, (Cody), Aja Madsen (Steve), Jeremiah Graves (Marcie), Kaila Lisonbee (Trever) to the family. The clan now includes 14 grandchildren, Sydney Stocking, Braken Stocking, Payton Stocking, Riley Bennett, Brinlee Bennett, Rhett Bennett, Sydney Sandoval, Isabella Sandoval, Jane Madsen, Lily Graves, Violet Graves, Deklan Lisonbee, Nixon Lisonbee, and Royal Lisonbee.  His passion was his family and enjoyed every minute of time spent with them.

Clint had many career paths, including, sales, business, construction, and teaching which he enjoyed the most. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, to name a few. He loved the game of soccer and helped with coaching most of his son's soccer teams. He was an all-around handy man and did everything from building houses, to rebuilding cars. There were always several projects in the works.

He loved the gospel of Christ and was happiest when serving and teaching the gospel. He especially enjoyed his retirement years when he was a substitute teacher in the LDS seminary program. He loved the youth! Clint was thrilled that he could still serve after having his stroke 7 years ago. He served faithfully as a service missionary despite his physical challenges because he loved the people he served and he was able to bear his testimony of the atonement of the Savior each week. Elder and Sister Stocking served in the West Valley Addiction Recovery Mission for the past 5 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Pinecrest Chapel, 2080 East Pinecrest Lane, Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be Friday evening 6-8pm and 9:40-10:40am Saturday at the chapel.
