Our beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Dale Grant, 71, returned to his Heavenly Father on July 21st, 2025 from an apparent heart attack. He was the oldest of 5 children, born to Douglas Leon Grant and Joan Marie Radoush, on June 19, 1954 in Long Beach, California.
Dale graduated from David Star Jordan High School in Long Beach, CA in 1972, then attended Long Beach City College, then BYU and later graduated from Weber State University where he received his Bachelors in Finance.
He served a faithful LDS mission in the Venezuela, Caracas Mission from 1973-1975 and came to love the people, he truly left part of his heart there among the people.
He worked at various Stockbroker firms and enjoyed his many years of employment. Dale Married Margo Denise McDade on March 13, 1986 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and he loved his Heavenly Father and his Savior Jesus Christ. He served in many various callings in the church over the years and enjoyed those that he served with. Dale had a great love for the gospel and understood the importance of family. He honored his Priesthood. When he was first married, he was called as the Elders' Quorum President. A few times he was called to move sisters and their children out of their homes during the night, to get away from an abusive situation. He would sacrifice his sleep to help--returning home cold and wet from working late in the winter weather. Then he would get up and go to work after getting only a couple hours of sleep.
Dale had an undying love for the LA Dodgers. When it was time for bed as a young boy, he'd appear to be sleeping, but actually he had his little transister radio under his pillow, listening to a Dodger game. His dad would take them to one Dodger game a year, and that was always Dodger vs San Fransisco Giants. Dale was also an avid cross-country runner during his high school yearsm and was given several awards for his accomplishments.
He loved his wife and sweetheart Margo, and their two daughters Emily and her husband Spencer and Ashley and her husband Edward, and their little family. Dale loved gardening and cooking especially with his grandson, James. When making breakfast for dinner on Sundays, he and James would laugh so hard at the sausage links, making noises as they cooked, and he even taught James to test the spaghetti to see if it was done. These three little beautiful grandchildren were his everything!
We would love to thank Tara Abbott and Emily at DaVita Kidney of SLC, DaVita Kidney in West Valley City, and his nephrologist Dr. Terrance Bjordahl for all your kindness and assisting with Dale and his kidney care. He loved each of you and always bragged about how much he appreciated everyone and their kindness.
Dale is preceded in death by his father Douglas Leon Grant; his mother Joan Marie Radoush Grant; his brother Jim Grant; and baby Granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife Margo, their two amazing daughters Emily (Spencer) Moyle, of South Jordan, Utah, Ashley (Edward) Midgely of Tooele, Utah; grandchildren James, Abby, and Carson; he is also survived by Ron (Martha) Grant, Joyce (Tim) Rosenlof, and Janice Grant.
