She grew up in Oakley, Idaho, with her sisters, Shareen and Marcia, and her brother, Bob. She graduated from Oakley High School in 1953.
Carole married Vern Green in Burley, Idaho, on May 9, 1953. They are the parents of six children. Carole and Vern divorced in 1977. In December, 1986, she married Thomas Dabb and welcomed his four children into her family: Tom Dabb Jr., Tondra Bateman, Susan Dabb, and Dawn McRae.
For a country girl, Carole traveled far and wide, living in many locations within the U.S. including Anchorage, Alaska; Phoenix, Arizona; Alexandria, Virginia; Flagstaff, Arizona; Spokane, Washington; and Boise, Idaho. She also spent four years living in Athens, Greece. She enjoyed the majority of her later years in Nampa, Idaho.
Trained at the Salt Lake Business College and the Boise Medical Training School, Carole's professional life focused primarily on secretarial and office-keeping positions.
Carole loved good music, and singing always played an important role in her life. She participated as a soprano soloist and choral member in many church, local, and regional choirs. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carole's testimony strengthened her to bear her many challenges with unwavering faith and cheerful fortitude.
Though naturally feisty and independent, as a mother, Carole maintained an atmosphere of patience and tolerance, providing a stable and loving home for all of her children as they found their own way in life. Their dedication to her is a testament to the love that she showered on them throughout their lives.
