Barbara was born in Portland Oregon on December 9th, 1931. She was raised by wonderful caring parents who taught her the importance of a good character. She attended grade school in Portland Oregon, San Mateo and Hollywood California and thenHigh school in Salt Lake City Utah.

She attended the University of Utah for 2 years then 1 year at Brigham Young University and LDS Business College.  She met her sweetheart Roy Tea while attending BYU and married him on August 22, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple.

They settled in Salt Lake City and were blessed with four children whom she loved with her whole heart. She spent many years as a homemaker and mother but later she became a Realtor and had much success.

She loved the LDS church and had a strong testimony.  As a young child, although there was no religion in her home, shewas raised to believe in God.  Later as a young adult she became a convert and was baptized when she was 15 ½ years old. As an adult she held many church callings and loved them all.  The one dearest to her heart, and at which she truly excelled, was as the church librarian.  She worked in the library for 25 years as ward librarian, tri-ward librarian, and stake librarian.  She was asked to be on the Church ad-hock committee writing the new manual to be the guide for all libraries church wide.   When her Stake was divided, she was asked by the Stakes to set up all their new libraries.

Barbara Tea's hallmark characteristics were love, empathy, caring, selfless service, her cheerful positive attitude, and her pure heart.
