Arthur Grant Long, age 76 passed peacefully in his home on March 15,2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 15,1947 in Payson, Utah to William Glen Long and Rachel Florilla Baxter.
Arthur married Jenny Lynn Taylor on August 3, 1968, after her passing he married Retha Louse Dye who has passed also.
He enjoyed telling stories, flying ultra lights, paragliding, prospecting and coin collecting. Arthur served in many callings and positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He also received numerous safety awards from all the mining companies he had worked for. Arthur was also an EMT for thirty years, #147 and a fire chief for twelve years in Eureka, Utah. Out of all the things he did in his life, visiting with his family was his favorite thing to do. He was the Best Daddy in the world!
He is survived by his brother, Evans (Teresa) Long; sisters, Thelma Thomas, Gail (Brent) Redmond and Rose Long. He is also survived by his children, Vicki (Kim) Smith, Melissa Alvey, Candy (Gene) Carter, Mark (Kim) Long, Crystal (Randy) Matulovich, Marcie Long (Daniel) Gonzales, Shannon Long (Sergio) Maldonado, Autry (Amanda) Long and many, many grand and great grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by both of his wives, Jenny and Retha, his mother and father, Rachel and William Glen, his brothers, Perry, Verl, Victor, also sisters, Joyce, Mary, Jeannie, Lynn and Lola.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, at the LDS Meetinghouse in Eureka, Utah. A luncheon will be held after the service at the church, 70 East Main Street, Eureka, Utah 84628.
