1939 ~ 2018
Annette Byer Searle passed away peacefully, Friday morning, March 16th, in Salt Lake City, with her family at her side.

Born October 1, 1939 to Thelma and Harry S. Byer, in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of four Annette's mother was killed in a tragic accident. Her father then married Leonre H. Byer, her loving stepmother, who raised Annette until she graduated from South High School, and later married Rodney Lee Searle. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest passions were her family and helping those in need. Annette delighted in surprising the West Valley City Police and Firefighters by taking them dinner during their long work shifts. She was exemplary when showing gratitude for those who served and protected her community. She volunteered at the Pioneer Valley Hospital for several years and cared for her husband who continues to suffer with multiple health issues.

Annette is survived by her loving husband Rodney Lee Searle, and their children: Michael (Kathy) Searle, Vicki (Zane) Shillington, and William Searle. She is also survived by their grandchildren: Erika (Michael) Searle, Alicia (Tyler) Riley, and Nathan Searle, Breann, Aubree, and Tyler Shillington, James (Katie), Brooke, Jacob, and Braeden Lamb; great grandchildren: Hunter Dotson, Michael P. Marquise, Tyler, Jamison, and Laila Riley, Daniel, and Max Lamb. Preceded in death by their son: Patrick Lynn Searle, and her parents: Thelma Virgie Byer, Howard S. Byer, and Leonre H. Byer.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 22nd, at 11:00 a.m., at the Copperhill 8th Ward Chapel, 4195 S. 6000 W. West Valley City, Utah, preceded by a viewing from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah, following the services. The family wishes to thank Dr. Shurma, and the incredible staff at the University of Utah Hospital's Cardio Vascular ICU for providing Annette with such extraordinary care. We will miss her dearly but are blessed that she leaves us with a rich legacy in memories.
