Anna Marie Martinez Ghariani, age 51, died December 7, 2015 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born December 2, 1964 in Price, Utah. She is the daughter of Mary Alice Marquez Martinez and Jesus Navarro. Anna married her soulmate, Dennis Carmell, in 1989, later divorced, but their love always remained.

She was a member of the Catholic Church, later changed to LDS to follow her calling. She attended East Carbon High School and graduated in 1983. She attended CEU to pursue her cosmetology degree.

She was an avid fisher and enjoyed taking her children to Scofield Reservoir as she enjoyed camping when she wasn't working so hard. Her children were her devotion, pride and joy and who she truly lived for. She was a single parent, but helped many people along her journey, even if it was her last dollar, always giving and never taking anything in return.
Anna is survived by her daughter Alicia Martinez and son David Olsen, Price, Utah, 2 step-son's Giles (Tony) Olsen, Price, Utah, Riley (Katie) Olsen, Rock Springs, Wyoming. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Hagen, Paizley, Isabella & Kylan Olsen. She adopted many, many more grandchildren along the way. She is also survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Rick (Kathy) Albert, East Carbon, Utah, John (Charlene) Navarro, Bakersfield, California, Carlos Navarro, Draper, Utah, Debbie Navarro, Price, Utah, Reneé (Thomas) Heinrich, Chicago, Illinois, Sonja (Mark) Bascom, Vernal, Utah, Joseph (Boni) Heaps, Provo, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 3 very special soul-sisters, Debbie Polito Herrera, Janice Cook and Carolina Melendez, and her special aunt, Arvella Gallegos, who took her in as one of her own kids, and cousin Sheri Gallegos who has always been there and never left her side.
She is preceeded in death by her best friend and mother, Mary Alice Marquez Martinez, grandparents Joe and Isabel Marquez, sister Boni Heaps, brother Jeff Navarro, Uncle Gary Gallegos and Uncle Paul Marquez, nephew Justin Flores, and cousin Virgil Marquez.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Ramada Inn Hotel located at 838 Westwood Boulevard, Price, Utah, beginning at 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Following later at her request, will be a Celebration of Life in June 2016.

The Cancer didn't win, she did!  Anna Banana fought courageously but developed an infection which ultimately took her life.
