Alice Moore Jewett

March 18, 1932 — March 24, 2026

Alice Moore Jewett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully March 24, 2025. She was 94 years old. Alice was born in Payson, Utah, the daughter of Cleon Huish Moore and Vida Hill Moore.

Alice grew up in Payson and graduated from Payson High School, where she developed the strong work ethic, faith, and friendships that shaped her life. After high school, she married her eternal companion, Willard George Jewett, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership, devotion, and purpose. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple October 13, 1950. Their early married years took them to San Pedro, California where Willard served in the U.S. Army. Together they later made homes in Payson, Utah; Nephi, Utah; Salt Lake City, Utah; and finally St. George, Utah, where Alice spent her later years surrounded by family and the warm community she loved.

Alice was a lifelong and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and her faith was the steady center of her life. She served faithfully in many callings, including ward and stake Primary President and in the Relief Society. She also offered unwavering support to her husband Willard during his years of work providing for the family and service in the church. Her leadership was marked by kindness, dependability, and a quiet strength that blessed countless lives.

Her greatest joy was her family. Alice raised four children--Craig (Marilyn), Alan, Terry (Jackie), and Pam (Tom). Each were nurtured with love, structure, and a home filled with warmth. She was known for cooking hearty, generous meals that brought people together and made everyone feel welcome. She ensured her children were surrounded by good friends, good influences, and the grounding presence of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her home was a place of safety, laughter, and belonging.

Alice’s posterity became the crowning achievement of her life. She is the proud matriarch of 16 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each carrying forward her legacy of faith, resilience, and love.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Willard, her daughter-in-law Pam, her parents Cleon and Vida, and her brothers Ray, Grant, and Maynard. She is survived, by her brother Paul, her children and her large and loving posterity.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Alice’s life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 N 800 E St, Payson, UT 84651.

Alice lived a life of quiet goodness—faithful, steady, and full of heart. Her influence will continue to bless generations yet to come, and her family rises up in gratitude for the love and example she leaves behind.
