Dean Ryan Balaszi

August 8, 1957 — November 26, 2023

With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Balaszi family announces the passing of our strong, brave, caring, and compassionate husband and father Dean Ryan Balaszi on November 26, 2023 at the age of 66.
Dean was born August 8, 1957, in North Hollywood California. He was the third of three boys born to Frank and Yolan Balaszi. In the early years you could usually find Dean outdoors hunting and fishing alongside his brothers and step sister. Dean graduated high school at Kemmerer High School in the year 1975 he then married his High School sweetheart, Kim on June 3, 1978, in Kemmerer Wyoming and then later they were sealed in the Logan Utah temple and would then spend 45 happy years together. Dean and Kim had three children; Ryan, Becky, and Brandon. After a motorcycle accident left him disabled, he fought for a better life for him and his family and went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Utah State University.
Throughout his life Dean had many accomplishments; earning his pilot’s license, becoming a certified HAM Radio operator, and running countless marathons, but it was after his retirement that he was able to pursue some of his true passions in life. There wasn’t a day that went by that you wouldn’t find him in the wood shop making bowls, vases, and any other trinkets you could think of honing his craft to then learn how to craft his own violins. His other true passion in life was the day he was able to purchase his 1970 Chevy Impala. He loved spending his time in the garage fixing up that car to make it the beauty it is today.
Dean is survived by his wife Kim, son Ryan Balaszi and daughter in law Amber of Richfield, Utah, daughter Becky Bosshardt and son in law Jason of Redmond, Utah, and son Brandon Balaszi and daughter in law Terrilyn of St. George, Utah, and 12 grandkids.
